The LAPI method represents the perfect balance between experience, innovation and quality control. 
An integrated and continuously optimised production process enables us to manufacture high-level thermoformed plastic components, adopting a flexible and fully customised approach for every client. 

Each phase — from design to thermoforming, from cutting to finishing — is managed internally by specialised teams to ensure efficiency, consistency and complete traceability.

Design and modelling

Where ideas take shape

Everything begins with listening to the client. 
In our technical department, designers and skilled technicians work together to transform concepts and drawings into thermoformed prototypes ready for series production. 

We use advanced 3D CAD software and CAM systems for the creation of high-precision aluminium moulds. 
Our 5-axis CNC robots ensure maximum accuracy and repeatability. 
Each model is verified using three-dimensional laser measurement systems, guaranteeing perfect alignment between the digital project and the finished component.

Computer-controlled thermoforming

The core of production

Vacuum plastic thermoforming is the heart of the LAPI method. 
With a fleet of 30 automated thermoforming machines, we can process sheets up to 3,500 × 2,500 mm and 4,000 × 2,000 mm, and perform twin-sheet thermoforming with polyurethane injection, using high-performance materials such as PS, ABS, HDPE, PMMA, PC and ASA and many others. 

Every stage of the process is digitally controlled: temperature, pressure and cycle times are monitored in real time to ensure consistent thicknesses and minimal tolerances. 
The result is a precise, repeatable production process suitable for any industrial scale. 

Thanks to this level of automation, LAPI guarantees efficiency, reduced waste and competitive delivery times.

Through our synergy with Simpla Udine, the Group company specialised in transparent thermoforming, LAPI produces high-precision displays, covers and optical panels. 

We use materials such as PETG, PMMA and polycarbonate to achieve components with outstanding optical clarity and structural stability. 
This expertise enables us to serve the medical, visual communication and industrial sectors, where aesthetics and functionality must perfectly coexist. 

High-precision transparent thermoforming represents the natural evolution of our production method, combining technology, design and performance.

5-axis cutting precision

After thermoforming, components move to the CNC cutting department, where 21 five-axis robots operate under CAD/CAM control to achieve clean, precise and repeatable cuts. 

Every operation is supervised by specialised technicians and verified through three-dimensional laser measuring arms. 
This ensures that each thermoformed component complies with client specifications and meets LAPI’s stringent quality standards. 

The combination of robotic technology and human expertise allows us to deliver components ready for direct integration into our clients’ assembly lines.

Finishing

The art of detail

In the finishing department, industrial precision meets artisanal care. 
Here, each component is completed according to the client’s specifications: assembly, bonding, ultrasonic welding, addition of accessories or functional inserts. 

Every stage is monitored through our internal quality-control system, ensuring consistent results and optimal performance. 
The outcome is a turnkey product, ready for immediate use.

A responsible production cycle

Since 2011, our facilities have been equipped with a photovoltaic system generating over 345,000 kWh/year, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 160 tonnes. 
All production waste is recovered and recycled, ensuring a truly circular production cycle.
